Peter Tan

My Biography

Peter Tan is currently appointed as the Chief Representative and Country Manager in China for Myanmar Airways International Co., Ltd. (MAI). He was also appointed as International Business Representative for MAI in October 1, 2009.

Peter Tan was Executive Director at Phoenix Leisure Holidays Sendirian Berhad, a travel and aviation consulting firm in Johor Bahru. He has vast experience dealing with various air operators in China, Malaysia, Myanmar and Singapore for aircraft (including helicopters) chartering and leasing arrangement. He was also dealing with China made heavy duty land and special purpose vehicles. He was authorized as the International Business Coordinator for Bei Fang Che Liang (BFCL) Company in China since June 1, 2008.

He was previously appointed as Executive Director at JTS Sendirian Berhad, an IATA/BSP accredited corporate travel agent in Kota Kinabalu during 2001 - 2007.

He was General Manager at Air Mandalay Limited, a regional airline operator in Yangon, Myanmar during 1997 - 2001. He has vast knowledge with experience on managing the airlines, airport, authorities and ATR 42/72 aircraft operation.

Prior to his Myanmar posting, he was Manager (Systems Support and Aviation) at Kemayan Corporation Berhad in Kuala Lumpur. He was managing the corporate helicopter and airplane operations.

Peter Tan was also Pilot (Resident Flying Instructor) and Vice Club Captain at Royal Selangor Flying Club in Kuala Lumpur during 1994 – 1998. He holds a valid Australian Commercial Pilot License, Malaysian Private Pilot License and Student Pilot License (Rotary).
